GPX Track Analysis and Conversion Tools
A GPX file is a log of where you went, and almost every question about it is one of four numbers: distance, ascent, duration and speed. Open the file in the GPX route statistics tool for a summary, check the elapsed distance with the GPX track distance calculator, and look at climbing with the elevation gain calculator.
The numbers depend on threshold choices that are easy to hide and worth showing. Elevation gain sums every upward step above a noise threshold, so a barometric track and a GPS-derived track of the same walk produce different totals; distance sums segment-by-segment and is sensitive to wandering fixes when you stood still. These pages state the method they use and keep the raw file untouched, so a disagreement between two tools can be traced to a threshold rather than an error.
Files are read locally — nothing is uploaded. When you need a different format, the GPX to CSV converter produces a spreadsheet of points, and the GPX merger joins tracks from separate days or devices. The GeoJSON sub-hub covers the web-mapping side.
